At ACT Expo 2025, the JETSI project hosted students and faculty from Rio Hondo College and San Bernardino Valley College for an immersive tour highlighting career pathways in battery-electric truck maintenance and fleet electrification.
As part of JETSI’s workforce development initiative, more than 20 students explored the latest zero-emission technologies through guided tours and interactive sessions with project partners including Electrify America, Black & Veatch, Daimler Truck North America, Volvo Trucks North America, TRC, LACI, and ChargerHelp!.
Students experienced hands-on learning with cutting-edge vehicle platforms, heard directly from fleet operators NFI and Schneider about real-world deployment insights, and attended focused discussions on workforce readiness and training needs.
JETSI is jointly financed by California Air Resources Board and California Energy Commission ($26.98 million), MSRC ($8 million), and South Coast AQMD ($5.4 million), with an additional $21.7 million from Port of Long Beach, Port of Los Angeles, Southern California Edison, NFI, and Schneider. JETSI is part of California Climate Investments, a statewide program that puts billions of cap-and-trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health and the environment, particularly in disadvantaged communities.
